HMRC are having a clampdown on the trading of crypto currency. Clients may not be aware, but trading in bitcoin etc gives rise to a capital gain. Please ensure that if you do make gains on the sale of crypto currency to inform us, so that we can check to see if it needs reporting on your tax return. You have an annual capital gains tax allowance of £12,300 so gains of less than this amount do not have to be reported.
